ABOUT US — THE BLACK CROWN COMMUNITY
Our Story
The Black Crown Community was created to support boys in building confidence, discipline, and pride in who they are.
As a mother and founder, I saw firsthand how many boys struggle with self-esteem — not because they lack potential, but because they lack guidance in caring for themselves.
Self-care is often overlooked for boys, yet it plays a powerful role in shaping identity, confidence, and emotional well-being.
The Black Crown Community was born to change that narrative.

Our Mission
Our mission is simple but powerful:
To help boys build confidence through daily self-care habits, grooming education, and positive identity development.
We believe that when boys learn to care for their skin, their hair, their hygiene, and their space…
They begin to care for themselves on a deeper level.
Because confidence starts with care 👑
The Black Crown Box
To support this mission, we created The Black Crown Box — a grooming and self-care kit designed specifically for teen boys with melanin-rich skin and textured hair.
Each box includes:
• Face Wash
• Hair Moisturizer
• Skin Moisturizer
• Cologne Mist
• Empowerment Education Card
Our products are natural, cruelty-free, and created to support healthy grooming routines while reinforcing positive self-image.
More Than Products — A Community
The Black Crown Community goes beyond grooming.

We provide:
• Self-care education
• Confidence-building routines
• Parenting insights
• Cultural representation
• Empowerment content for young kings
We are building a space where boys feel seen, supported, and proud of who they are becoming.
Our Founder
My name is Damaris Hurtado. I’m an Afro-Latina from Colombia, now living in New Jersey — a proud mother, former foster mom, and community advocate.
For over 20 years, I’ve worked with children and families, and I saw firsthand how deeply young people need to feel seen, valued, and confident.
I noticed many boys with Afro-textured hair and melanin-rich skin were growing up without grooming guidance or representation — and their confidence was being shaped by pressure instead of pride.
So I decided to build something different.
That vision became The Black Crown Box — a grooming and confidence system designed to teach young kings that caring for themselves is an act of discipline, identity, and self-love.
Because confidence starts with care
My purpose is deeply personal:
To help children — especially Afro-textured boys — grow up feeling confident, proud, and worthy of love.
To support families raising strong leaders.
To build a movement rooted in wellness, empowerment, and representation.
Because when children learn to care for themselves, they don’t just build routines — they build self-worth.
Closing Statement
The Black Crown Box is more than a grooming kit — it is a movement rooted in care, culture, and confidence.
Every product, lesson, and resource we create is designed to remind young kings that self-care is not vanity — it is identity, discipline, and self-respect.
Through Goodvibra and The Crown Center, my mission is to help families raise boys who feel seen, valued, and proud of who they are — inside and out.
Because when a boy learns to care for himself, he begins to believe in himself.
And that belief can shape his entire future.
We believe every boy deserves to feel proud of who he is.
We believe grooming is more than hygiene — it’s identity.
We believe confidence begins in the small daily habits that shape a young king’s future.
Welcome to The Black Crown Community 👑
